Art Diary: Week Ending 16th March

10/03/2013

This Sunday was dedicated to domestic and family matters with only a handful of tablet drawings done (plus usual evening work of course).

A new working week and I decided to begin going over the pencil lines of the recently started Wing works with thin acrylic paint, completing the two simpler compositions: HOMAGE TO PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GUITARS and THE MASK. I am using dark green paint and will then probably wash over the entire picture with brown.

Late start but I painted over the lines of one more Wing work: THE DANCE (bit more complicated this work!).

I painted over the lines of the most complicated Wing work: THE PICNIC (complex work – simple title!).

Another late start but I decided to paint the lines on some earlier GS works. Today doing the two panoramic format works which used timber stickers an an integral part of the composition – As you can see I still haven’t named them! Unless I have named them and didn’t know about it!

I also did one of the SELF PORTRAIT IN A PINK DRESS variations.

I was out part of the day and on my return yet again decided to spend my time writing – this is becoming a habit!

My wife was out shopping for the day (with someone else!) so I was able to spend a large part of it in my studio, painting over the lines of the other three SELF PORTRAIT IN A PINK DRESS variations. I completed this stage on all three and then spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening working on the computers. For completeness perhaps I should add that I used a combination of green paint, violet paint and acrylic medium.

PS I hope the myriads of photographs weren’t too boring.  I took them in my study (which doubles as an emergency guest room – hence the bed!); an activity which attracted the attention of one of the cats!

Not boring at all… your artwork is fascinating! Do you ever show or sell your work?
